See you next year

Tuesday, 23 December 2008

Looking back, thinking ahead.

It's that time of year when look start looking back at the last 12 months, and pondering what the next 12 will bring. Especially given the current economic climate.

We've definitely had some high points this year (winning the Environmental Responsibility award at the FSB Devon Business awards), and a few disappointments (some projects we would have liked to work on, but didn't get). But good or bad it motivates us to aim higher next year. We'll be taking some time out before we come back in January to set our targets for 2009. We've got some interesting plans under development; strategies to help us add more value to our clients and create new opportunities. We've also got some great client projects which we'll be able to unveil in January.

So I'd like to finish this year's posts by wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a successful 2009!

YouGen website goes live

Regular readers might remember the post about our logo design and brand development for YouGen. Well this week saw the first phase of their website go live, at www.yougen.co.uk. The site has been developed by Optix Solutions, and we have worked closely with them to develop the visual identity for YouGen online. This includes a range of icons, to identify the various renewable energy technologies that are explained on the site.

We're currently working on design elements for phase two of the YouGen site, which will be launched in early 2009. To see more examples of logo design and visual identity work we have done at Alder and Alder, visit our website.

Christmas is coming!

We took one step closer to the festive season this week when we had our office Christmas lunch! We went to the Field Kitchen at Riverford for an absolutely fantastic lunch. If you've never been you really should try it, whatever the time of year.

Hot off the press

We got a good mention in the Express & Echo today (Exeter's local paper) in an article talking about the recent DEBI Awards. One of the business reporters called me on Monday to find out a bit of background about Today and Tomorrow and why we started it. If you'd like to read the article, just click here! And below you can see me and Charlie collecting our certificate (and bottle of wine) from Dr Richard Cresswell of the Environment Agency.
