My favourite advert (at the moment)

This isn't strictly an ad... but I've been enjoying the trailer for Don't Stop Believing on Five this weekend (plenty of opportunity to see it, they've shown it enough times!). Looks very simple, but probably a nightmare to coordinate!



Very clever the way they have woven the various songs together, and a really nice use of colour in the clothing.

I must point out, as much as I like the trailer, NOTHING will persuade me to watch ANY reality-talent-vote show. NOTHING.

It reminded me of this peach for Sony Walkman...

Beautiful sunset when I got back from the conference today (see above). We took the opportunity to feed the ducks opposite us - William had a great time. A nice way to end a busy day.

Hats off to Innocent

It's that time of year again! Charlie's started knitting - so it can only mean one thing: Innocent's Big Knit campaign is back! Innocent have joined forces with Sainsbury's to raise £250,000, to support the work of Age Concern and Help the Aged. In the UK 1 in 10 people over 65 suffer from malnutrition, so for every bottle (with hat) that is sold, 35p goes to support healthy eating and healthy living projects. A great British Bank Holiday

Two photos taken on the same beach, on consecutive days - a pretty good synopsis of the summer! But William doesn't really care what the weather's like, as long as he can dig. Exmouth has a great beach, and it's only 20 minutes away. It's making the most of opportunities like that - to be at the beach in 20 minutes - that help remind you of what a great place to live Devon is. Then when you go back to work the next day and start talking to your clients, you're reminded why it's a great place to work too.

Happy Birthday to you!

Yesterday was William's second birthday. He had a fantastic day, filled with presents, family and food! Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins had come from far and wide to celebrate. Charlie and I had had the obligatory late night, making preparations; Charlie making a star-shaped cake, me putting presents together and wrapping them. But it was all worth it - William had a wonderful day. So now we've got 12 months to plan for number 3!

We called this blog Work and Play for a reason - but their hasn't been much 'play' lately, so here's something to put that straight! Here's William dressed for Cowboy Day at his childminders. Yeehar!

Egg hunts for Easter

Had a great weekend, making the most of the sunshine. On Saturday we visited Riverford, to join in their annual Easter Egg Hunt. It's a fantastic afternoon, with loads of things for kids to do and see, including a walk around the farm on the Easter Egg Hunt. We also had the opportunity to learn about a Send a Cow and the work they do in Africa. Then there's the incredible cakes from the Field Kitchen, to boost flagging energy levels!



Not content with that we also took a trip to Killerton House on Easter Sunday, as it was such a beautiful day, but we did pass on the opportunity for another egg hunt. Then to round off the weekend we visited friends on Monday, and the kids had another egg hunt in the garden. So over the course of the weekend William had a fairly high egg quota, but there's a pretty strict egg embargo in place in our house, so he didn't get to sample many! Me and Charlie took care of the surplus. At his age he's oblivious, but I'm not sure we'll get away with it next year!

National Snow Day

This was our walk home from the childminder today. William really wasn't too impressed with the snow... Me and Charlie were a lot more excited. He just wanted to go home.
