Your brand can help you stand out from the crowd. It's an opportunity to make sure that you catch the eye of potential customers - not one of your competitors.
It's important to remember that most people will see your brand before they experience it, so differentiating yourself visually can be crucial. It's no good having the best product in the world, if you don't give people a reason to pick the box up in the first place. As Innocent say in their book, "Your packaging sells your product the first time... the experience of the product sells it the next hundred times." (page 98, if you want to find out more).
But standing out from the competition is about more than looks. Read that Innocent quote again. Your product or service must stand out too. It needs to set you apart (in a good way!), and give the customer a reason to come back again. And that is why your brand can be such a powerful (and valuable) tool if you use it well.
